Lemons! Lemons! Lemons! This past year was the year of the lemon 🙂 I had many many requests for themed parties with an Amalfi Coast vibe or one where the host wanted to incorporate live lemons. For this party, the guest of honor wanted a daytime brunch with lush garlands down the table with textured greenery and live lemons. She also wanted to add unique yellow and white florals but was not a big fan of roses. Thankfully, there are many beautiful natural yellow flowers that could be incorporated to create the feeling of being in a coastal Italian town right here in Dallas Texas. The beautiful private gazebo room at Mercat Bistro was the perfect setting for a daytime brunch and I hand tied three garlands with lemon leaves, variegated pittosporum, seeded eucalyptus and Italian ruscus to create full and lush centerpieces and styled whole and sliced lemons on site. We used yellow butterfly ranunculus, crespedia, hydrangeas and golden ranunculus to create wreaths to welcome guests and a chinoiserie piece for the gift table. At the end of the brunch the birthday girl was able to take everything with her to enjoy at her home! As always, I loved working with the Kelsey Booth Dell team on the design and execution of this birthday brunch and it came together exactly as she had hoped for!
